The FIBA AfroCan is a new competition of national teams for players on the African continent. The first edition took place in 2019 in MALI and the Democratic Republic of Congo were crowned champion of this competition that will take place each four years.

In efforts to develop and provide opportunity for locally based players, a Juba Training Camp was held in May, 2023 at the Nimra Talata Basketball Stadium.

Based on performance, a final selection was made, and they subsequently proceeded to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as part of the South Sudan National Team, to compete in the aforementioned tournament.

In addition, ten Juba based coaches accompanied the team to attend a coaches clinic. Coaching Clinics are sessions of consultation and teaching with experienced coaches to improve performance and capability.

The final squad and games schedule will be announced on Friday, June 16.
