South Sudan fall short to Senegal

MONASTIR (Tunisia) - It was the rematch from AfroBasket 2021 where South Sudan looked for revenge after a heavy 74-104 loss over one-year ago.

Both teams started hot with Senegal taking a narrow first quarter lead 17-11 but South Sudan raced back to win the second quarter 16-7 giving a half-time lead of 27-24.

The second half turned up the heat with both teams finding rhythm but it was South Sudan keeping the narrow lead of 43-42 going into the final 10-minutes.

Both teams weren’t backing down where it went down to the final plays where Senegal scored key baskets in the closing minutes to take the win.
